Business Analyst – Federal Government (Contract)
We are working with a Commonwealth Government department to engage experienced Business Analysts to support a range of ICT and digital initiatives within their Chief Information Officer Division.
These projects sit across emerging technology, digital platforms and business-critical systems and require Business Analysts who are comfortable working with complexity, multiple stakeholders and Agile delivery teams.
The role
You will be responsible for working closely with business areas and technical teams to understand requirements, improve processes and support the delivery of practical, fit-for-purpose solutions.
This is a hands-on Business Analyst role suited to someone who enjoys engaging with stakeholders, facilitating workshops and producing clear, usable documentation.
What you will be doing
* Analysing current and future state business processes and information environments
* Working through data requirements, user journeys and information flows
* Facilitating workshops to gather and validate business and user needs
* Translating requirements into clear documentation, including:
o Business requirements
o Functional and non-functional specifications
o User stories and acceptance criteria
o Process maps and service design artefacts
o Business cases and reports
* Working closely with technical specialists to support solution design
* Investigating and analysing systems in line with government policies and legislation
* Evaluating solution options and supporting decision making
* Working within Agile teams on complex digital and web-based projects
What we are looking for
To be considered, you will need to demonstrate:
* Strong experience facilitating workshops and analysing complex information to identify business and user needs and translate these into clear requirements
* Solid experience writing user stories and acceptance criteria that support development and testing
* Experience working on complex digital projects in an Agile environment
* Confident communication skills and the ability to engage effectively with a wide range of stakeholders
Nice to have
* Experience delivering Information Technology Services
* Experience documenting requirements for Sitecore
* Experience using Azure DevOps for user story management
* Exposure to Dynamics 365, Power Platform, Azure or Google Analytics
