Purpose of the Role
BGIS is seeking an experienced BMS Manager to oversee the operation and optimisation of building management systems across a large and complex healthcare environment in Southport.
Reporting directly to the Operations Manager, you will work collaboratively with client representatives, subcontractors, and BGIS teams to ensure building systems operate efficiently, safely, and in line with contractual performance requirements. The role supports critical infrastructure that enables essential healthcare services to operate smoothly.
This is a newly created position, offering the opportunity to contribute to system improvements and strengthen service delivery within a technically advanced environment. The ideal candidate will be analytical, collaborative, and solutions-focused, with strong technical knowledge and an interest in continuous improvement.
Key Responsibilities
* Manage and optimise the Building Management System (BMS) to ensure efficient and reliable building operations.
* Coordinate planned maintenance, service activities, and system monitoring using CMMS platforms.
* Work closely with subcontractors and technical specialists to ensure services are delivered in line with contractual obligations and safety requirements.
* Monitor system performance, analyse trends, and identify opportunities for energy efficiency and operational improvements.
* Support compliance with relevant legislation, environmental standards, and BGIS management systems.
* Prepare reports, provide technical insights, and support ongoing service improvements for the client environment.
* Direct and oversee and supervise a team of technicians and trades.
Education, Experience & Skills
Essential:
* Trade qualification and engineering disciplines with post-trade technical training.
* Demonstrated experience working with Building Management Systems (BMS) within complex facilities.
* Knowledge of maintenance operations, statutory compliance, and building services systems.
* Experience coordinating subcontractors and technical service providers.
* Proficiency in CMMS platforms and Microsoft Office applications.
* Strong organisational, communication, and relationship-building skills.
Desirable:
* Experience in healthcare, critical infrastructure, or large-scale public facilities.
* Facilities Management qualifications or equivalent industry experience.
* Experience with energy management, sustainability initiatives, or environmental systems.
Workplace Flexibility
This position will be based full-time on-site at a major healthcare campus in Southport supporting a critical public service environment.
The role is 40 hours per week, with PPE, iPhone, iPad, laptop, and uniform provided to support day-to-day operations.
The location offers direct access to public transport, making commuting convenient for local candidates.
