We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Environmental Compliance Coordinator to join our team.
Key Responsibilities:
* Develop and execute environmental management strategies to ensure ongoing compliance with existing approvals, including development consents, environmental protection licenses, and mining leases.
* Collaborate with government departments to secure timely approvals, minimizing operational delays during reviews by regulatory bodies, independent panels, and independent commissions.
* Establish strong relationships with regulatory bodies to foster effective communication, collaboration, and alignment with project objectives.
* E nsure continuous compliance with site approvals, licences, leases, and regulations to achieve operational adherence and risk mitigation.
* Lead the environmental team, providing guidance and support to team members to achieve operational goals and regulatory compliance.
* Promote sustainability and responsibility across the workforce through engagement and education.
* Undertake community consultation and stakeholder engagement to ensure effective communication and collaboration.
* Maintain and continually improve the environmental management system to ensure it remains effective and compliant.
* Develop and revise management plans to support ongoing environment and subsidence management.
Required Skills and Qualifications:
* Tertiary qualifications in Science, Environmental Science, Mining Engineering, or equivalent.
* Extensive experience in leading and managing major project implementation, including mine approval projects, plan development, and planning approvals.
* Proven experience in environmental management in a mining-related environment, including organisational representation to regulators, local governments, and community groups.
* Experience working with environmental legislation and regulatory frameworks, such as EP&A Act, EPBC Act, POEO Act, and Mining Act.
* Demonstrated ability to apply an Environmental Management System to deliver system improvements and lead change management processes.
* Substantial interpersonal, negotiation, and written skills, including report preparation.
