This position is focused on teaching adult learners in Soft Furnishing at South Thames College.
The lecturer will deliver varied and effective teaching and learning sessions, develop course objectives and lesson plans, and monitor learners' progress to ensure success in the Soft Furnishing course.
Responsibilities include delivering teaching sessions where all participants are respected and able to participate, and designing course objectives and lesson plans that monitor learner progress.
Requirements and qualifications include substantial relevant professional experience in Soft Furnishing technique, with an ability to demonstrate a professional background in the field.
Candidates should have working knowledge of Soft Furnishing principles, including fabrics, sewing techniques, pattern making and construction methods.
A teaching qualification is preferred (or willingness to work towards one).
The candidate should be able to identify and implement improvements in existing systems and demonstrate a commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and vulnerable adults.
Excellent computer literacy and the ability to communicate effectively at all levels are essential.
