Salary range:
$91,138 to $99,635 per annum + 13.5% superannuation.

About The Role
This role contributes to the success of the City by supporting efficient and effective rating and property management for the Hobart municipal area. It plays a central part in ensuring the accuracy of the City's property and rating data, maintaining valuation and ownership information, and supporting revenue performance through sound administration.

Role Accountabilities Include

* Managing rates assessments, general accounting processes, and supplementary valuations within legislative frameworks.
* Maintaining accurate rating records including ownership updates, notices of sale, pensioner remissions, pensioner rebate claims, and associated charges.
* Managing direct debit arrangements, schedules, applications, and monitoring defaults.
* Issuing summonses for unpaid rates and helping to maintain outstanding rates at the lowest possible level.
* Managing street numbering and coordinating with internal and external stakeholders.
* Maintaining records required for the General Manager's Electoral Roll.
* Conducting vacant land audits, property inspections, and providing expert advice on rating and valuation matters.
* Preparing building lists and submitting relevant documents to the Valuer-General for revised valuations and supplementary rates.

About You
You are a detail-focused professional with experience in rating, valuation, property management or local government financial administration. You work well within a team, communicate clearly, and are confident interpreting and applying legislation, procedures and policies.

You Will Bring

* A sound understanding of local government rating and property valuation frameworks.
* Strong analytical and problem solving skills, with the ability to maintain high-quality and accurate records.
* Clear and effective written communication skills, with the ability to present complex information in a simple and logical way.
* Well-developed interpersonal skills, including experience engaging with customers, ratepayers and internal stakeholders.
* A commitment to the City of Hobart's organisational values.

A relevant qualification (such as a Diploma in Business or Finance) and a current Driver Licence are required.
