Head of City Sport Maintenance

I'm currently recruiting for an experienced leader to take on the role of Head of City Sport Maintenance with a well-established local council in Sydney.
This is a key leadership position overseeing the day-to-day operations and maintenance of a wide range of community sport and recreation facilities - including stadiums, sports fields (natural and synthetic), a golf course, aquatic centres, and more.
Key Responsibilities:
Lead the operational maintenance of sports fields, courts, aquatic centres, and sports buildings
Manage an annual operational budget of $2.8M and a $1M capital works program
Oversee a team of 20 staff, driving performance, safety, and service delivery
Deliver WHS-compliant operations across all sites
Implement best-practice turf and facility maintenance programs
Develop and manage strategic plans for assets, including aquatic and golf facilities
Coordinate programmed and reactive maintenance activities
Manage external contractors and stakeholder relationships
Promote innovation, efficiency, and continuous improvement in service delivery
The Offer:
6-month temporary full-time contract (36 hours per week)
Salary from $123,891.39 to $143,546.89 + 11.5% super

What We're Looking For:
Qualifications in management, business, or equivalent experience
Strong background in facilities and/or sports turf management
Experience managing local government or community sports infrastructure
Solid understanding of asset management, WHS, and risk frameworks
Proven leadership skills and experience managing field-based teams
Skilled in contractor management, budgeting, and reporting
Excellent communication and problem-solving skills
NSW C-Class Driver's Licence and White Card (or willingness to obtain)
