The Opportunity

Central Gippsland Health (CGH) is seeking a dedicated **Emergency Medicine Registrar or Senior Medical Officer** to join our dynamic Emergency Department team in Sale, Victoria. This role offers the chance to work within a busy regional hospital that provides a comprehensive range of acute and sub-acute services to the Wellington Shire and beyond.

This is an excellent opportunity for a doctor passionate about rural emergency medicine, teaching, and clinical leadership — all while enjoying the relaxed coastal and alpine lifestyle of the Gippsland region.

About The Facility

CGH operates across three campuses — **Sale, Maffra and Heyfield** — and delivers:

Full-time Emergency Department Critical Care Unit & Neonatal Critical Care Unit Three Operating Theatres & Day Procedure Unit Oncology & Dialysis Services Sub-acute and Rehabilitation Services Residential Aged Care & Community Health Programs

Our Emergency Department Includes

2 Resuscitation Bays 5 Cubicles 2 Treatment Rooms

Supported by highly skilled nursing staff, **Senior Medical Officers**, **FACEMs**, and a strong team of **Junior Medical Officers**.

The Role

As a key member of the Emergency Department, you will:

Deliver high-quality, evidence-based emergency medical care Lead and mentor junior medical officers and students Support the senior management team in prioritising patient care Participate in credentialed clinical procedures Contribute to the continuous improvement of departmental services

Mandatory

Qualifications & Experience

MBBS or equivalent, eligible for registration with the Medical Board of Australia General, Provisional or Limited Registration with AHPRA

Desirable

ACEM Non-Accredited Trainee status Minimum 5 years postgraduate experience Demonstrated experience in emergency medicine Experience teaching or supervising junior medical staff and students Supportive multidisciplinary team environment Strong teaching hospital affiliation with **Monash University’s School of Rural Health** Opportunities for ongoing professional development and clinical leadership Affordable regional living with excellent schools, lifestyle, and community facilities Easy access to pristine beaches, alpine national parks, and Melbourne (2.5 hours by car)
