Firstly, the business – it's a well-known family business, proudly Australian owned and in operation for over 75 years. It manufactures capital equipment that is sold and distributed Australia wide.
Its production facility has a range of Industrial capabilities including Laser Cutting, Folding, Welding, Powder Coating and Assembly, that many businesses can only dream of. Utilising such an asset, spurned its Contract Manufacturing business securing its first client 20 years ago. It's now a strong business with over 30 clients across a range of industries, including some very well-known enterprises. It's a division that strongly complements the company's traditional businesses with the objective of achieving full plant utilisation.
The Contract Manufacturing area of the business needs an Estimator, moreover though, the whole division has now become a central plank to the company's Strategic Growth Plan. This position, newly created, will therefore not only be the Lead Estimator but also take on a broad leadership role for the division, managing relationships with clients and identifying new opportunities for growth, and overall, representing the company to the market.
Its Contract Manufacturing business has an extremely compelling value proposition. It's differentiated by its unique end to end capability including Design, backed by very competitive pricing and extremely high levels of service and over 95% DIFOT.
Reporting to the Managing Director, you'll be accountable for the business revenue, profit and utilisation objectives, manage client relationships and build business strategies. You'll develop a customer relationship plan and leverage the Sales team, leading promotional programs with customers and industry bodies, whilst also managing the price change process.
Encompassing full Estimator responsibilities, quick turnaround is required to take and analyse the client brief, fully understand the manufacturing requirements and accurately calculate all costs to ultimately provide a detailed and professional cost proposal.
Critically using your very strong stakeholder skills, with the support of your team, you'll collaborate extensively across the business including Production (it's a shared facility), Scheduling, and Engineering as well as the leadership team more broadly.

We are looking for someone with experience in Manufacturing and/or Engineering management, with hands-on estimator capabilities, but critically adept at building and maintaining strong client relations, backed by outstanding service. Indeed, well developed engineering knowledge sees you turn product design into a high quality, efficiently manufactured final product.
