Primary objective
Lead, manage and coordinate the planning and delivery of Repairs and Maintenance (R&M) programs across multiple Northern Territory
Government agencies within the Central Australian Region. Provide both strategic and operational support to the General Manager
Regions and Senior Officers across the Department, driving continuous improvement, compliance, and effective service delivery. Supervise
and develop a multidisciplinary team of technical and administrative staff to ensure efficient program implementation and reporting.
Key duties and responsibilities
1. Provide leadership and oversight of regional maintenance teams, including management of work allocation, financial, and physical
staffing resources.
1. Plan, coordinate, and deliver annual and cyclical Repairs and Maintenance (R&M) programs, contract management and other specific
maintenance works across the region for multiple government client agencies.
3. Lead and support technical officers, program support staff, consultants, and contractors to deliver timely and cost-effective
outcomes.
4. Monitor and report on program performance, budgets, risks, and schedules, ensuring compliance with relevant legislation, standards,
and agency requirements.
1. Contribute to procurement planning, tender evaluations, and contract management to support efficient and transparent service
delivery.
1. Build and maintain strong working relationships with client agencies, service providers, and internal stakeholders to achieve shared
outcomes.
1. Support departmental disaster response and recovery activities relating to R&M programs.
2. Ensure all work complies with workplace health and safety, environmental, and equal opportunity policies and standards.
Selection criteria
Essential
1. Demonstrated experience in managing the planning and delivery of maintenance programs and projects, including budget oversight,
contractor management, and compliance monitoring.
1. Proven leadership skills with the ability to manage multidisciplinary teams and align resources to meet service delivery objectives.
2. Strong analytical, problem-solving, and organisational skills with the ability to manage competing priorities and deadlines.
3. Highly developed communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to negotiate, influence, and build productive relationships
across government, industry, and community stakeholders.
1. Sound knowledge of asset management, building maintenance practices, procurement processes, and relevant legislation and
standards.
1. Experience preparing reports, briefings, and correspondence for senior management and/or government.
2. Ability to work effectively in remote and cross-cultural environments, including culturally diverse communities.
3. Current Driver's Licence or the ability to obtain one.
Desirable
1. Relevant qualification in one or more of the following categories: Business, Engineering, Architecture, Project Management or a
related discipline.
