About the Role Reporting to the CFO, the Management Accountant is a senior finance role responsible for driving financial performance, insight and strategic decision making across the organisation. This position will lead the budgeting and forecasting cycle, deliver high quality financial reporting and provide commercially focused analysis to support executive leadership. Working closely with senior stakeholders, you will play a key role in shaping financial strategy, improving operational performance and supporting business growth initiatives. The role will also provide leadership and mentoring to a Financial Analyst while ensuring strong financial governance and reporting standards are maintained. This is a permanent full-time opportunity based in either Cairns or Brisbane, working standard business hours. Your Responsibilities: Lead budgeting, forecasting and financial planning processes. Deliver accurate and timely financial reporting and performance insights. Partner with senior leaders to provide strategic financial advice. Develop financial models, cashflow forecasts and scenario analysis. Monitor KPIs, business risks and performance improvement opportunities. Support pricing strategies, cost management and profitability analysis. Drive improvements across systems, reporting and automation. Ensure strong financial governance, compliance and reporting standards. Lead, mentor and support a small team. Skills and Experience Required Qualifications in Accounting, Business or Finance with CA, CPA or CIMA highly regarded. 5 to 10 years’ experience within management accounting or a similar commercial finance role. Strong experience in budgeting, forecasting, financial reporting and variance analysis. Advanced financial modelling and scenario analysis capability. Strong understanding of commercial drivers, cost behaviour and profitability analysis. Experience producing executive level reporting and supporting strategic business decisions. Previous experience leading or mentoring finance team members. Strong analytical, problem solving and stakeholder engagement skills. High attention to detail with the ability to work autonomously and collaboratively within a fast paced and multicultural environment.
