Solution Architect Manager – HCF Australia
As Solution Architect Manager, you will lead a team of solution architects in designing and delivering scalable, secure, and innovative technology solutions that meet evolving business needs.
You will act as a strategic partner to business and IT stakeholders, ensuring architectural integrity, alignment with enterprise standards, and successful execution of transformation initiatives.
Key Responsibilities
Lead, mentor, and develop a team of solution architects, fostering a collaborative and high-performance culture.
Oversee the design of comprehensive solutions that integrate various technologies and meet business requirements.
Ensure that technology solutions are delivered to achieve business goals and can be effectively supported.
Engage, support, motivate and develop capability and potential in others.
Provide oversight on the definition and establishment of the solution architecture, from the initial conceptual vision through to delivery, to ensure delivered solutions align to designs.
Ensure team members provide expert input and guidance into the planning and design phase of projects to ensure deliverables are consistent with HCF 's architecture (at an Application, Information and Infrastructure level).
Builds and maintain understanding of IT strategy and enterprise architecture to ensure that solutions and decisions about the technology requirements for solutions are consistent with the company's overall IT direction and EA principles.
Develops and follows standard architecture design practices, processes and output artefact specifications.
Ensure that solutions are designed and implemented to the highest standards of quality, performance, and security.
Understand, influence and advise on solution designs to ensure that business needs are translated into design architecture.
Inform business stakeholders of progress and issues.
Perform work in a manner that complies with relevant regulatory standards including Work Health & Safety (WHS) legislation.
Essentials
Exceptional verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to explain complex technical concepts to non-technical audiences.
Proven experience as a people manager, leading solution architects and collaborating effectively with senior stakeholders.
Strong relationship-building skills and a collaborative mindset across cross-functional teams to ensure successful solution delivery.
Strategic business acumen with a deep understanding of organisational goals and the ability to design information systems that deliver on strategy.
Strong resource forecasting skills, able to assess high-level requirements and provide accurate delivery estimations.
Demonstrated ability to apply architectural governance and provide guidance throughout implementation to ensure compliance with design specifications.
Deep experience in designing robust software architectures addressing security, performance, scalability, caching, deployment, and availability.
Proficient in producing detailed and accurate architecture documentation, with over 5 years in technical system design based on functional and non-functional requirements.
Familiarity with architectural frameworks such as TOGAF, ZACHMAN, or similar.
Skilled in using architecture and design tools including Visio, Gliffy, Confluence, and other diagramming platforms.
Strong understanding of on-premise, cloud (IaaS, PaaS, SaaS, IPaaS), and hybrid deployment models.
Understanding of software development lifecycle (SDLC) with practical experience in Agile methodologies.
