The Opportunity
We are looking for an experienced Senior Mechanical Engineer to join our Engineering Team and work alongside a multidisciplinary group to deliver outstanding results across various projects in the mining and minerals industry.
Responsibilities
* Ensure all mechanical engineering work complies with statutory and regulatory requirements, company policies and practices.
* Ensure project conformity with regards to safety, environmental and quality issues.
* Prepare and review preliminary and detailed designs for mechanical engineering project work and ensure compliance with conditions and parameters set out in project scope of work.
* Lead the designated design engineering and drafting team to achieve project goals within time and budget constraints.
* Prepare documentation standards, procedures, safe working practices and monitoring regimes in respect of work on or around engineering projects.
* Conduct a technical review of tender documentation for projects to ensure project objectives (schedule and performance) are achieved.
* Prepare maintenance planning data for all project fixed plant and infrastructure items covered by the project design scope.
Qualifications
* Relevant engineering qualifications and a minimum of 8 years of professional experience in mechanical engineering.
* Demonstrated knowledge in mineral processing and materials handling environments.
* Knowledge of current engineering design standards.
* Ability to execute the design process in conjunction with all relevant disciplines and ensure design coordination of any multidisciplinary activities.
* Proficiency with relevant engineering software used within the organisation, particularly Excel, Word and computer‐aided drafting tools.
* Ability to handle priorities and tasks with accuracy and excellent attention to detail.
* Demonstrated high‐level communication and problem‐solving skills.
* Full and unrestricted Australian working rights – no sponsorship available. Applicants must reside in Australia.
