**About the Role**
Reporting to the Chief Risk Officer and General Counsel, your focus is to develop the firm's business intake processes.
You will oversee the conduct of searches of firm databases and manage the firm's review, interpretation and summarising of results in a way to effectively and efficiently escalates critical issues and mitigates the risk of potential legal and business conflicts of interest. You will be interacting daily with senior management and partners of the firm.
You will train those checking and analysing results, and you will be instrumental in developing the team to undertake Anti-Money Laundering due diligence, sanctions and politically exposed persons checks on all new clients, suppliers, and business partners.
***Responsibilities**
- Accountable to oversee business intake requests to:
- Ensure clarity of requests and seek clarification where required
- Define search terms for new or existing clients/suppliers and all matter parties
- Prompt and efficient data entry into the firm's conflicts and other systems
- Analyse data to identify possible conflicts under applicable professional conduct rules and internal risk management protocols
- Conduct corporate research via external sources and internal databases
- Evaluate conflict reports, identify potential issues and clear false positives
- Send accurate and timely reports to partners and other legal staff
- Manage the waiver process, including drafting, logging, and filing waivers
- Ensure that all conflicts and other business intake reports are complete, consistent and accurate and adhere to established firmwide risk management protocols
- Escalate appropriate matters to partners or Risk.
- Resolve potential conflict issues with partners and other legal staff
- Promote awareness of the rules of professional conduct governing concurrent client conflicts in same or related matters, former client conflicts, commercial conflicts, confidentiality, and disclosure.
- Ensure that the team's function and performance is transparent and accountable to key stakeholders.
- Collaborate with Technology and iHub on data cleansing projects and to identify and implement process improvements and training
- Support key projects and initiatives of the Risk team as required
**About You**
- Experience with intake and conflicts software, including CMS/Aderant, intapp, World Check One
- Proven ability to work through potential conflict of interest issues and exercise sound judgement on when to escalate
- Demonstrated ability to draft and revise engagement letters and to review outside counsel guidelines and similar documents for alignment with Firm policies, collaborating with the affected attorneys to negotiate these with clients.

- Demonstrate excellent collaboration and teamwork capability to build and maintain productive working relationships with internal stakeholders.
