Role Overview
Be the voice that makes ageing feel heard, valued and supported in Taree.
This Short-Term (Temporary Part-Time) Speech Pathologist Level 3 position will run until December ****.
The role is based at Taree Community Health Service with a 22-hour week and competitive remuneration ($*****-$***** per hour plus super and incentives).
Key Responsibilities
Conduct meaningful assessments of older Australians across hospital and community settings.
Provide practical, person-centred therapy, including safe swallowing support on ward and community visits.
Record and evaluate small, everyday victories that demonstrate client progress.
Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team (Nurse Unit Manager, Allied Health, TACP staff, Aged Care Assessors, Psychogeriatric specialists).
Mentor and support a fellow Speech Pathologist based at Wingham Community Hospital.
Qualifications & Experience
Bachelor or postgraduate degree in Speech Pathology (or equivalent).
Eligible for membership with Speech Pathology Australia.
Experience working with older adults and/or rehabilitation settings is preferred.
Strong verbal, written and interpersonal communication skills.
Proven ability to work autonomously and within a multi-disciplinary team.
Experience in planning and evaluating team activities is desirable.
