School Overview: Chifley College Senior Campus is a comprehensive, co‐educational secondary school on the traditional lands of the Dharug people. It caters for Stage 6 students, focusing on Higher School Certificate preparation, further training and employment. The student population of 570 is culturally and linguistically diverse: 29% have English as an additional language or dialect, 24% are from Aboriginal/Torres Strait Islander backgrounds and 31% are from Pasifika backgrounds. The campus works closely with local universities, businesses and community groups and is committed to quality teaching and support for positive post‐school pathways.
Responsibilities & Duties:
* Develop and implement quality HSIE teaching programs aligned with NESA syllabuses.
* Coordinate assessment and reporting processes.
* Lead, inspire and manage a team of HSIE teachers, building their skills in curriculum development, implementation and evaluation aligned with the new HSIE syllabuses.
* Build staff capacity in the use of data‐informed teaching practices.
* Strong interpersonal skills to build and strengthen partnerships with staff, students, parents and the Western Sydney community.
Qualifications & Selection Criteria:
* Proven ability to develop and implement quality HSIE teaching programmes.
* Experience leading and managing a team of teachers.
* Strong knowledge of curriculum, assessment and student welfare.
* Educational leadership skills to build capacity and manage performance of individuals and teams.
* Well‐developed communication and interpersonal skills.
* Ability to plan and manage resources effectively and equitably.
* Knowledge of and commitment to the Department's Aboriginal education policy.
* Successful teaching experience with a capacity to initiate improvement in teaching, learning and classroom practice.
* Unconditional full approval to teach with the NSW Department of Education.
