About the Role * Classification: Locally Engaged Staff * Salary: USD 216,431 * Work Location: Victorian Government Trade & Investment (VGTI) office, San Francisco, USA * Employment Type: Full Time An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced senior professional with extensive background in leading foreign direct investment (FDI) promotion activities and business development, together with a detailed understanding of the global business environment (in particular as it relates to the USA) to join the Victorian Government Trade & Investment (VGTI) network. Reporting to the Commissioner for Victoria to the Americas, this position is responsible for formulating inward FDI attraction strategies and generating new investment leads into Victoria from the US as well as supporting digital trade activities within the region with the goal of boosting Victoria's economy, creating jobs and further enriching the local innovation ecosystem. The Senior Director will provide specialist leadership support for the Investment team in North America and day to day team guidance for the San Francisco office team and will also work closely with the Invest Victoria headquarters in Melbourne and its network of international offices. Successful Candidate The successful candidate will possess: * * Extensive experience leading investment attraction, including responsibility for the design, delivery and execution of sector-specific investment attraction strategies and programs, particularly within life sciences, biotechnology and health technology sectors. * Extensive experience in trade and export development, particularly in technology or technology-enabled sectors. * Demonstrated leadership skills and experience, including the ability to lead specialist teams, manage performance and operate effectively across geographically dispersed environments. The successful candidate for this locally engaged position will be responsible for all applicable arrangements and costs in relation to visa, relocation, their accommodation and day-to-day living expenses.
