Overview
Industrial Electrical Engineer - Newcastle role at Bendigo Advertiser. Join our growing Electrical Engineering team, delivering innovative electrical solutions across sectors including food & beverage, minerals & metals, forestry, energy & manufacturing, water, power, and defence. You will design and implement critical infrastructure that powers industry, from high-voltage power distribution and motor control to automation, protection systems, and industrial electrification.
Responsibilities
* Provide technical design and project management for projects on heavy industrial sites as well as Food and Lifesciences, and water sites.
* Design and development of instrumentation and electrical systems, including single-line diagrams; motor starter drawings; electrical layouts; instrument loop diagrams; cable schedules; PLC I/O schedules.
* Project management, procurement, and commissioning for existing and greenfield systems.
* Scope/requirements definition and procurement of equipment, software, and installation work.
* Detailed design contractual report writing and construction-related services.
* Understand client processes to gain knowledge of the client's business across industries; build strong customer relationships and ensure services meet client expectations.
* Provide implementation phase support, including contractor supervision, progress monitoring, schedule reviews, contract management, minor procurement assistance, and expediting.
Qualifications
* Degree-qualified Electrical Engineer with technical design and project management experience.
* Experience undertaking projects for heavy industrial sites as well as Food and Lifesciences, and water sites.
* Strong organizational and communication skills with ability to work within a larger project team to achieve good engineering outcomes.
* Experience across electrical systems and equipment up to 11kV and below; instrumentation and control system applications.
* Knowledge of design tasks such as instrumentation and electrical systems, including SLDs, motor starter drawings, electrical layouts, instrument loop diagrams, cable schedules, and PLC I/O schedules.
