Initially located at Victoria Mill, Ingham offers a laid-back lifestyle, with stunning island beaches and exciting outdoor adventures right at your doorstep. Whether you're into fishing and boating, hiking, or just chilling by the beach, the Herbert Region has it all waiting for you.
This is a permanent position in our sugar processing factory which requires shift work during the crushing season (June - December), including weekends and overtime and day work during the maintenance period (Jan - May).
Your Role in Action
Shredder Commander: Master the start-up and shutdown operation of shredders which are driven by steam turbines.Mobile Plant Pro: Hop on mobile equipment to tackle product spills, re-rail bins, and handle a variety of other tasks with ease.Milling Train Assistant: Support the team by helping with the start-up and shutdown of the Milling TrainSmooth Operator: Clean and lubricate key equipment like spotters, carriers, pinions and juice heaters to ensure smooth and efficient 's Right Hand: Work alongside skilled shift tradespeople, providing hands-on support when and where it's required.
Your Winning Combination
The successful applicant will possess excellent communication skills, both written and verbal (including familiarity communicating via UHF) and demonstrable ability to work alongside a range of different people. Basic mechanical skills will be highly regarded.
While the following qualifications are requirements in this role, training will be considered for people who possess the right aptitude and team fit:
