The Carers Queensland Central Coast Region is
looking for the right person to join our Local Area Coordinator team. you are

This opportunity is open to Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait
Islander candidates only. The First Nations Local Area Coordinator role aim to
connect First Nations peoples to the NDIS and relevant community supports,
enhancing participation and outcomes for individuals and communities.

About The Role:

First Nations Local Area Coordinators focus on facilitating
community engagement, raising awareness of the National Disability Insurance
Scheme and improving understanding of inclusion of people with disability
within local communities.One the primary goals is to ensure First
Nations people with disability, their families, carers and communities have
improved connections to relevant disability specific and other supports in the
community while being committed to Carers Queensland's workforce to enable support
& development of the cultural capability to understand and respond
effectively to the cultural needs of First Nations people. This position is
based at our Rockhampton Office with some site visits to our Gladstone team.

Some of the Key Duties:

Capacity Building and Community Connection

* Enhance the capacity of
individuals with disabilities, their families, and carers to engage with
and contribute positively to their communities, fostering inclusive
participation.

Cultural Understanding and Resource Identification

* Support Carers Queensland in identifying resources and
experiences that deepen our organisation's understanding of First Nations
cultures, histories, knowledge, and perspectives.

Strategic Partnerships and Stakeholder Relationships

* Identify, facilitate, and maintain key partnerships and
stakeholder relationships within First Nations communities that align with
the priorities of Carers Queensland.

Community Development and Inclusion

* Actively facilitate positive partnerships between
individuals, families, carers, local organisations, and the broader
community to enhance inclusivity and accessibility.

* Community Impact: Work
directly with First Nations communities to support individuals with
disability to connect to the NDIS.

once past probation, depending on operational need) at
our Rockhampton site.
