Job Description
We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Project Management Specialist to lead our operational teams and play a crucial role in delivering vital construction and maintenance projects.

Your responsibilities will include but are not limited to:

* Serve as the conduit between management's strategic direction and operational teams' day-to-day activities, ensuring effective communication and understanding of project objectives.

* Collaborate with management to convey operational requirements and constraints, providing practical insights on safety, quality, and environmental considerations.
">
* Oversee the planning, execution, and completion of construction and maintenance projects.
">
* Coordinate and lead operational teams, contractors, and consultants to deliver projects on time and within budget.
">
* Engage with regulatory agencies, community groups, and external stakeholders to address concerns, obtain approvals, and build positive relationships.
">
* Manage contracts, including agreements with contractors, ensuring progress and performance monitoring.
">

Minimum Requirements
To be successful in this role, you will need:

* A diploma in project management, civil construction management, leadership and management or equivalent; OR significant experience in civil construction leadership roles.
">
* Proven experience in project management preferably in civil construction, contracts management or project management role.
">
* Strong leadership skills with the ability to manage and motivate teams effectively.
">
* Excellent problem-solving abilities.
">
* Knowledge of relevant engineering principles, regulations, and industry best practice.
">
* Exceptional communication skills, both written and verbal.
">
* A current and maintained NSW Drivers Licence.
">
* A SafeWork NSW Construction Induction (White Card).
">

Additional Skills and Background
The ideal candidate will possess:

* A bachelor's degree in civil engineering or a related field.
">
* A master's qualification in civil engineering or a related field.
">
* Previous experience in a civil construction management role in a local government context.
">
* Additional qualification in project management, leadership and management or related field.

* Knowledge of the role, functions, and responsibilities of local government.
