We are currently partnering with a global OEM automotive manufacturer to recruit a Software Release Engineer on a 12 months contract (with possibility of extension) to join their Advanced Driver Assistance Systems (ADAS) team. This is a unique opportunity to play a critical role in releasing next-generation automotive software across major vehicle programs. You will lead robust software delivery, support launch activities, and collaborate with ADAS teams across multiple global locations to ensure high-quality, confident releases.
As the Software Release Engineer within the ADAS team, you will take ownership of software release planning, governance, validation robustness, and continuous process improvement. You will be instrumental in reducing release risk, increasing validation coverage, and ensuring issues are resolved right the first time.
Key Responsibilities
• Lead robust embedded software delivery across vehicle programs, including gateway sign-off and launch support
• Plan and execute ADAS software releases, including development and service software packages
• Support software reviews, release governance, and drive continuous process improvement
• Conduct testing to verify root causes, confirm theories, and ensure corrective actions are effective
• Drive strong utilisation of JIRA and Confluence to improve issue handling, coordination, and validation efficiency
• Support feature and performance validation activities across ADAS modules
• Increase validation robustness through quality data, connected data, detailed specifications, and historical JIRA analysis
• Reduce release execution effort and risk through structured planning and evidence-based validation
• Drive system-level and software-level focus across ADAS modules
• Create and manage coaching content, host monthly design reviews, and lead technical knowledge-sharing sessions
About You
You are a technically strong and delivery-focused engineer who understands embedded automotive software and thrives in complex, cross-functional environments.
• Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering, Computer Science, Software, Information Systems, or 5+ years of relevant automotive software product development experience
• Experience leading embedded automotive software delivery on vehicle programs, including launch support and milestone/gateway sign-off
• Experience with Driver Assistance technologies and sensors (camera, radar, ultrasonics, sensor fusion, image processing)
• Strong understanding of ADAS software architecture, ECU integration, sensor interaction, and gateway communication
• Advanced proficiency in JIRA (workflows, dashboards, queries, triage discipline, metrics)
• Strong working knowledge of Confluence for release documentation and validation evidence
• Ability to clearly articulate status, risks, trade-offs, and go/no-go recommendations to engineering and program leadership
• Collaborative mindset with the ability to influence without formal authority
• Track record of release or validation process improvement (automation, templates, standardisation, improved defect throughput)
• Experience with OEM diagnostic and software tools
• Ability to interpret C/C++, Java code, or logs to support issue resolution
• Ability to work 4 days on site and 1 day WFH
