Strategic Water and Geotechnical Management Leader
This is a senior leadership role that requires expertise in integrated water, tailings, and geotechnical management. The successful candidate will have a strong understanding of regulatory requirements and the ability to develop and implement strategies that promote sustainability and safeguard critical infrastructure.
The role involves providing expert leadership to multidisciplinary teams and collaborating with corporate and site leadership, HSE, and sustainability functions. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in the mining industry, preferably in senior positions, and proven expertise in tailings and water management.
The General Manager - Water, Tailings and Geotechnical will be responsible for overseeing and being involved in the design, construction, operation, monitoring, and closure of tailings storage facilities and water management systems. They will also ensure compliance with applicable standards and regulations and identify, assess, and mitigate geotechnical, water, and tailings risks across sites.
To be successful in this role, you will need to have a bachelor's degree in Hydrogeology, Geology, Civil Engineering, Environmental or related field. You will also need to have a sound understanding of international tailings standards and be able to apply strong financial understanding in preparing and managing budgets and schedules.
