Lauren Dibben of Ecotone has done a wonderful job in building a reputable Ecology offering based out of Weipa with her home-grown team of 25 serving large clients like Rio Tinto and Glencore.
Aside from working with many of Mining's biggest names, the team is super friendly, the work is interesting (very sensitive areas ecologically) and the blend of coastal + country landscape is beautiful..
The Role:
We're looking for a Principal or experienced Senior ready to take the step up to lock in with Lauren as the business leader, aligning not only at the technical level to deliver projects and mentor juniors, but also to help run and operate the business.
The type of work typically covers Terrestrial Flora Fauna Ecology in and around the mining sector. As the Principal, you are mentoring, reviewing reporting, project managing and responsible for final sign-off on projects.
Options for this hire include (and in order of preference):
1. Relocate and live in Weipa full time
2. Work remotely from your home base (and travel up once or twice a month)
3. Sub-contract arrangement to assist with work overflows
The salary on offer reflects the location, which will be made up of salary, living allowances etc. The aim here is that it is a long-term arrangement, with the view that equity is in the mix for the right individual.
