Job Description
Light gardening and maintenance role within Adelaide metropolitan suburbs that meets the needs of the consumer and their carer(s) to maintain their independence and remain within their home environment.
Weekdays with flexible hours (10hrs/week initially with opportunity for this to increase).
Necessary to have your own transport and mobile phone.
Gardening equipment and tools supplied.
Travel reimbursement.
The Gardener will perform duties depending on qualifications and skills.
Planting, pruning, and maintaining trees, shrubs, flowers, and lawn
Monitoring plant health and identifying pests, diseases, and other plant-related issues
Watering, fertilising, and mulching as necessary to promote growth and sustainability
Operating and maintaining gardening tools and equipment such as mowers, line trimmers, and irrigation systems
Keeping outdoor areas tidy, including removing weeds, leaves, and debris
Advising on plant selection, garden care and seasonal gardening techniques
Communicate effectively with internal and external stakeholders through verbal and written communication whilst maintaining confidentiality.
Involve yourself in activities that support continuous improvement and self-development.
Work co-operatively and develop relationships with individuals from diverse cultural backgrounds based on mutual respect and cross-cultural understanding
Work undertaken in the home and will be in accordance with the organisation's mission, values and standards.
Participate in and contribute to the development of a total safety culture.
Comply with the Family Home Support Services' WHS and infection control policies and procedures.
Assist the organisation by taking responsibility for the identification, management and or elimination of hazards and unsafe work practices.
Other tasks as delegated by Operations Manager and/or Registered Nurse and/or Coordinators
