The Police Security Officer is a vital role within the South Australian government, providing operational support to ensure the security of government assets on a 24-hour, 7-day roster basis.

As a Police Security Officer, you will be responsible for providing a range of services including:

* Security services to designated government critical infrastructure;
* A whole-of-government alarm monitoring service;
* Security of people, places, and property in support of frontline police officers.

You will work closely with police officers, Senior Police Security Officers, and Police Security Officer Sergeants to ensure the efficient and effective security of government assets.

To be successful in this role, you will need to have:

* Australian or New Zealand Citizenship or permanent residency;
* No criminal history;
* An ability to work shift hours, including nights, weekends, and public holidays;
* An ability to travel intrastate as required.

Upon completion of training, you will be appointed to PSSB by the Commissioner of Police pursuant to the Police Act 1998.

The Police Security Officer Qualification Program includes a mixture of classroom-based instruction and on-the-job, hands-on training with experienced training staff at the Police Academy and other locations.
