An exciting opportunity exists for an experienced and passionate educator to join the leadership team at Malanda State School (MSS) as the Head of Special Education Services (HOSES) on a temporary full-time basis, for the duration of Term 3, 2025 unless otherwise determined.
As a key member of the leadership team, the HOSES plays a critical role in shaping and promoting an inclusive school culture.
This leadership position is responsible for ensuring that all students receive equitable and excellent educational opportunities in alignment with the Queensland Department of Education's Equity and Excellence strategy.

About Malanda State School
Welcome to Malanda Primary School. We are a coeducational Prep to Year 6 facility with an enrolment of around mid 400's students. We are situated on the Atherton Tableland amidst World Heritage rainforest in tropical Far North Queensland. Our community is reliant upon agriculture and to a lesser extent the tourism industry. About The Role
Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
* Manage and coordinate the delivery of high-quality advice and support provided by the Special Education Program and/or Early Childhood Development Program.
* Lead and manage the Special Education Program and/or Early Childhood Development Program to provide advice to classroom teachers for students with disability as needed.
* Provide high quality advice to the school leadership team, classroom teachers and other school staff to develop, plan and implement effective reasonable adjustments for students with disability.
* Coordinate and provide intensive targeted teaching for students requiring intervention.
