Citadines on Bourke Melbourne, located in the heart of Melbourne's city centre, is seeking an enthusiastic, experienced, and dedicated person to join the Engineering team as a Maintenance Officer. The successful candidate will be part of a tight-knit, supportive team.
In this role you will be responsible for:
* Assisting with the day-to-day maintenance operations across the property to ensure all facilities and equipment are functioning at the highest standard.
* Conducting routine inspections and preventative maintenance (daily, weekly, and monthly) on property facilities including pools, gymnasiums, firefighting installations, and safety systems.
* Responding promptly to breakdowns, urgent repairs, and assisting colleagues across departments or properties when additional support is required.
* Liaising with the Engineering Manager, Heads of Department, and Guest Services to address maintenance needs, uphold brand standards, and meet reporting and compliance requirements.
* Ensuring all maintenance activities comply with Occupational Health and Safety standards, Ascott policies, and relevant legislative regulations.
To be successful in this role you must have:
* Strong practical skills in general maintenance, with experience across multiple trades (e.g., electrical, plumbing, mechanical, carpentry, or HVAC).
* A solid understanding of safety standards, firefighting equipment maintenance, and workplace health and safety regulations.
* The ability to work collaboratively with other departments and communicate effectively with both staff and guests.
* Flexibility with working hours to meet business demands, including availability for after-hours emergencies if required.
* A clear understanding of property fire and emergency procedures, with the ability to respond calmly and effectively during incidents.
