We’re seeking an enthusiastic and highly organised Assistant Conference & Events Manager to join our dynamic team at Rydges Resort Hunter Valley. This is an exciting opportunity to support the delivery of exceptional conferences, meetings, and events at our vibrant venue.
About the role:
As the Assistant Conference & Events Manager, you will play a key role in supporting the end to end coordination and execution of all conference and event operations. You’ll work closely with clients, suppliers and internal teams to ensure every event runs seamlessly and exceeds expectations.
This role is ideal for someone with strong hospitality or events experience who thrives in a fast-paced environment and has a passion for delivering memorable guest experiences.
Key Responsibilities:
• Assist in managing the operational delivery of conferences, meetings, and events
• Coordinate event logistics, room setups, AV requirements, and catering timelines
• Support the Conference & Events Manager with client communication and event planning
• Lead and supervise operational team members during event delivery
• Maintain excellent relationships with clients, suppliers, and internal departments
• Ensure all events meet company standards for service, presentation, and safety
• Troubleshoot issues on the day of events to maintain smooth execution
• Contribute to event reporting, feedback collection, and process improvement initiatives
Skills and Experience:
• Previous experience in events, hospitality or a similar role
• Strong organisational and multitasking abilities
• Excellent communication and customer service skills
• Ability to work under pressure and adapt to changing requirements
• Confident in supervising and motivating staff
• Flexibility to work a rotating roster, including evenings and weekends as required
• High attention to detail and a commitment to delivering quality outcomes
