About the Role
We are seeking a skilled Mental Health Specialist to provide comprehensive mental health services. As a key member of our multidisciplinary team, you will work alongside psychiatrists, psychologists, occupational therapists, social workers, peer workers and registered nurses.
Key Responsibilities:
* Conduct thorough intake assessments using evidence-based tools, determining service allocations and managing escalations for high-risk or complex cases.
* Develop tailored interventions in collaboration with participants and their families.
* Assess and triage individuals seeking mental health services.
* Provide personalized counselling, therapy, and brief therapeutic interventions.
* Advocate for participants and coordinate with other clinicians, peer lived experience workers, and stakeholders to enhance interventions and well-being.
* Monitor and manage participants' mental health and well-being, collaborating with health professionals as needed.
* Match participants with appropriate internal or external mental health services based on clinical assessment and organisational capacity.
* Participate in clinical meetings, case meetings with peer lived experience workers, training sessions, and professional development activities to enhance expertise.
About You
* Current AHPRA registration in relevant discipline (psychologist, registered nurse) or AASW (Social Worker) is required.
* Demonstrated experience in comprehensive mental health assessments, risk assessments, and evidence-based interventions is essential.
* Able to demonstrate and provide mental health triage and participant de-escalation.
* Demonstrated skills and experience in trauma-informed counselling and therapy, including the use of multiple clinical counselling modalities.
* Strong interpersonal and communication skills, including good computer literacy.
* Able to build rapport and influence diverse stakeholders.
* Passion for making a positive impact and ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment.
* Effective time management and organisational skills, with the ability to meet program delivery KPIs.
