Due to an internal promotion a great opportunity has become available for an experienced Sourcing Manager to join our Supply Chain Group.
The Role
Reporting directly to the Supply Chain Manager, this key role will lead a world-class Sourcing Team and will be responsible for setting procurement and supplier management strategies, that lead to efficient and cost-effective supply chains for Cargill Australia businesses. This will include ideation of Go To Market models, planning, tendering and management of suppliers and in addition and as needed, will have oversight over other Cargill Transport & Logistics operations activities in Australia.
In this varied role you will be accountable for ensuring that operational capacities are right sized and managed with visibility of total demand and supply across all sub-modes and markets. Understanding the needs in a seasonal and changing organization, building trust with Businesses and balancing service level performance and service cost will be a key accountability, as will ensuring that service levels are maintained. Key Accountabilities
Leading the sourcing team within CTL Australia, ensuring best in class execution pathways, as well as manage service levels and performance with existing and/or potential suppliers. This will include leading, managing, and engaging CTL road, rail, Storage/Warehousing and Packing suppliers.
Oversee and manage sourcing strategies for Storage/warehousing, road and rail activities for Cargill Australia. Ensuring asset utilization and efficiencies are obtained post sourcing events. Should there be markets opportunities to sell asset services, then dictate pricing and manage relationships.
Ensure the team and all suppliers are working efficiently whilst meeting and exceeding safety standards. Oversight to Australian CoR responsibilities and ensure Cargill is meeting these laws.
Through disciplined supplier management methods, lead supplier performance management levels and report metrics.
Look to provide solutions to optimize and reduce workload through better digital platforms used in Cargill Australia today
Develop plans to continuously deliver high quality & Cost effective services to support Cargill Australia.
Managing a team of sourcing leads to ensure delivery of team KPI's About you
**To be successful in this role you will require**:
- Bachelors Degree required, preferably in business, logistics, transportation, supply chain management, or a related degree.
- At least 5-8 years ideally in transportation or a related industry
- Proven ability to lead teams in a fast pace, time sensitive and transactional environment.
- Demonstrated ability to lead the development and execution of a strategy in a complex environment with multiple stakeholders and interests
- Proven ability to lead and manage supply chain operations service performance across multiple businesses
- Demonstrated ability to develop and leverage strong partnerships with vendors, customers, carriers and BU clients for problem solving and high performance
- Comfortable dealing with and manoeuvring through some ambiguity while still achieving clear objectives/requirements
- Experience partnering with senior leaders and businesses to understand strategies/requirements and translating them into priority actions
- Understanding of truck and container transportation market (fast-paced, dynamic) and translate into short
- and long-term business opportunities; commercial acumen
- Ability to create a vision, plan the implementation, and lead a team to accomplish vision
**Preferred**:
- Experience in a commercial truck line, transportation service, and/or brokerage
- Led a business with P&L responsibilities
- Experience(s) in process improvement
- Able to work with some autonomy
