Locomotive Operator Role
This role is suitable for an individual who can display superior teamwork skills, flexibility, a high level of safety awareness and customer service. The Locomotive Driver will operate locomotives including mainline, shunting and marshalling. They will examine and certify trains as ready for departure. The successful candidate will work in accordance with Aurizon's safety and operational standards and procedures. They will maintain a high level of on-time running. Additionally, they will prepare and conduct brake testing on locomotives.
The ideal candidate must have a strong commitment to safety and the Aurizon Safety Strategy 'I Know Safe, I Choose Safe'. They must be available to work 24/7 shift roster. Experience in WA Safeworking System is advantageous. The candidate should also have extensive freight and/or heavy haulage locomotive driving experience. A certificate IV in Rail Operations or equivalent is required.
