Opportunity
Ongoing, full-time position based at the Malmsbury Youth Justice Precinct in Malmsbury.
YJW3 role: $92,684 – $103,302 per year plus super.
Provide oversight and leadership to a team of Industry Officers delivering and supporting young people to engage in industry offerings onsite, actively driving young people's development through modelling pro-social behaviour, positive relationship building and engagement.
Oversee the provision of service/commercial industry offerings, identifying operational and service delivery deficiencies and efficiencies, and developing and implementing strategic solutions.
Provide live and formal supervision to staff in accordance with the supervision framework, DJCS performance development program (PDP) and develop a team culture that promotes formal and informal learning and capability development.
Provide high-level specialist advice in relation to industry offerings at the location, including assessment of workflow priorities, allocation of workload and team-based responsibilities.
Develop and maintain relationships with key stakeholder industries in the community to support multidisciplinary approaches for the rehabilitation and reintegration of young people.
Partner and provide specialised advice with a range of internal and external stakeholders including behaviour support specialists, rehabilitation and health staff to ensure the various needs of young people are met.
Ensure all compliance and regulatory documentation is completed efficiently and in line with relevant legislation, policies and procedures.
To Be Successful in This Role You Will Have:
Relevant industry experience, together with appropriate qualifications or trade experience (highly desirable).
Demonstrated experience in fostering a therapeutic and outcomes-focused environment and working with staff, service providers and young people to reduce re-offending.
Demonstrated experience in engaging meaningfully with young people and managing challenging and complex behaviours using positive behaviour strategies.
Current statement of attainment for the first aid unit HTLAID011 Provide First Aid, to be obtained prior to commencement.
Completion of the Youth Justice Leadership and Supervision Training (desirable, but not necessary).
You will be required to obtain a Working with Children Check (WWCC) to be maintained by the employee for the period of employment.
