**About the Team**
The Chief Counsel Division is responsible for the agencies Legal Services, Administrative Appeals Tribunal (AAT) Case Management and Litigation & Dispute Resolution functions. The Practice Management team provides business support to all three Branches in the Chief Counsel Division, including the recruitment and on-boarding of new starters, financial and procurement activities including budget reporting, contract management, invoice confirmations and managing legal disbursements.
**The Role**:
**Business Support / Practice Management APS5 leve**l will be required to perform procedural, clerical, administrative and operational tasks that supports and contributes to agency's objectives. It is a team membership position and is accountable for organising the workflow and making independent decisions relating to an area of responsibility.
**Responsibilities of the role include but are not limited to**:
- Reviewing and processing invoices to ensure they are charged in line with appropriate contracts and ensuring compliance with Agency policies and procedures.
- Assisting with monthly expenditure reports, accruals and budgets as required.
- Managing legal disbursements including witness reports, barrister fees and working with other legal and non-legal vendors as required.
- Providing a key contact for external firms and clients for accounts related queries.
- Undertaking procedural and administrative support including mailbox management, allocating work, record keeping and data management as required.
- Assisting in preparing reports and analysing data for the branch (financial and non-financial).
- Assisting in preparing procurement documents to support the creation of work orders and contract variations.

**Essential Skills and experience**:
- Proven experience or exposure in **finance sector in managing invoice, expenditure reports, accruals and budgets.**:
- Proven **administration skills** and experience, displaying **organisational** and **time-management** skills.
- Demonstrated delivery focus with a** high attention to detail** and who can work **independently or under limited guidance** in relation to their area of expertise.
- Excellent c**ommunication, interpersonal skills** and has an aptitude for **collaboration and negotiation** with a broad range of stakeholders.
- Strong computer skills - **MS Office **with hands on exposure in** **preparing** reports and analysing data**.
- Ability to understand policies, procedures, and legislation.
