The Sydney School of Architecture, Design and Planning is currently seeking a Lecturer in Urbanism to join its dynamic team. Working alongside world-class researchers and teachers, you will be part of a supportive and dedicated cohort of academics focused on delivering innovative research and teaching in the field of urbanism.
Our Discipline of Urbanism is concerned with the design, characteristics, and processes of urbanism and the policy and planning solutions proposed to create better cities. We embrace an integrated and multidisciplinary approach to the theory, policy, and design of how we make and shape cities.
* coordinate and teach units within the urbanism discipline
* make a research contribution to urbanism
* contribute to the governance of the discipline, school, and university
Key Responsibilities
You will have the opportunity to:
* deliver high-quality teaching and curriculum development
* conduct original research that contributes to the field of urbanism
* collaborate with colleagues to advance the discipline and improve student outcomes
Requirements
To be successful in this role, you will need to demonstrate:
* a completed PhD in urban planning or cognate disciplines
* a demonstrated track record of teaching and peer-reviewed research publications in urban planning and wider urban studies
* evidence of excellence in teaching across diverse modes of teaching
* the ability to lead or collaborate in competitive research funding applications
* a developing industry network
