Job Description
We are seeking a skilled Editor to lead our team in content gathering and planning.
The successful applicant will oversee and co-ordinate the daily output of both bureaus in a responsive and efficient manner. You will also;
* Provide effective leadership for a whole-of-team approach to content creation for online, broadcast, and social media to engage local, state and national audiences across platforms.
* Generate stories that are relevant to a broad section of Australians and reflect the cultural, geographic and socio-economic diversity of the country.
* Align regional content with ABC News' strategy and audience expectations.
* Actively engage in activities on national projects, with support of the audience content and community partnerships teams.
* Develop and build team capability through appropriate training, coaching and mentoring.
* Offer feedback and leadership to foster a high-performance culture.
Required Skills and Qualifications
To be successful in this role, you will have:
* A proven track record in a Radio, TV, Digital and/or News content making environment.
* Strong editorial skills in planning, gathering and producing innovative content.
* Effective leadership skills with superior organisational and communication skills.
* Experience creating agenda setting live radio in a contemporary manner with an audience focus.
* Efficient at administration tasks.
