 
        
        Mental Health Support Specialist
This role involves working with young people to support their mental health and wellbeing.
Key Responsibilities:
 * Provide tailored case managed responses to young people through outreach and community engagement.
 * Deliver high-quality services that respond to the unique needs of young people, using a flexible and person-centred approach.
 * Support young people to navigate services and connect with community resources that help them build confidence, independence, and meaningful participation in daily life.
 * Contribute to service improvement and champion the voice and leadership of people with lived experience.
About the Role
This casual position is part of our Youth Mental Health team. Ideal candidates have at least two years' experience and a genuine passion for supporting recovery.
About the Service
The Young People's Mental Health Service supports young people aged 16–24 with a mental illness. The service helps young people participate in community, social, educational, and vocational life, building confidence, independence, and meaningful connections.
Requirements:
 * Tertiary qualifications in Mental Health, Social Work, or other health-related fields are highly regarded.
 * Completion of Intentional Peer Support Core and/or Advanced Training is desirable but not required.
 * Lived or living experience of mental distress and recovery and willingness to support clients through sharing learnings and recovery-oriented practice is essential.
 * Previous experience in using lived experience and expertise in a dedicated support role is preferred.
 * A valid driver's licence and access to a reliable vehicle are necessary.
