The Goulburn Valley is often referred to as 'The Food Bowl of Australia' as around 25% of the total value of Victoria's agricultural production is generated in this area.Greater Shepparton has a population of approximately 65,000, and an expenditure budget in excess of $118 million. The population is culturally diverse with 9.9% of residents being born overseas. The area has excellent education, recreation, cultural, social and health facilities and tourism is a developing focus for the region.Early Childhood – Second in ChargeSalary: $70,960.77 per annum pro rata (plus in-charge allowance)Closing: Friday 20 June 2025Full Time – Temporary (To 31 July 2026)Greater Shepparton City Council’s Children’s Services is seeking a temporary full-time Early Childhood – Second in Charge/Educational Leader at Arthur Dickmann Children’s Centre. This role is based in the service’s office working alongside a Service Leader and Administration Officer.The initial hours are part time 8:30am to 5:30pm, Thursday and Friday, with an increase to full time from 30 July 2025. Start and finish times may vary based on service needs.Key responsibilities include collaborating with the Service Leader and team to implement a holistic, play-based curriculum, fostering an inclusive environment that promotes children's interests, culture, and abilities, leading the development of a high-quality educational program, and supporting the Service Leader in operational requirements.Arthur Dickmann Children’s Centre offers 3-year-old and 4-year-old Kindergarten programs, Long Day Care services, and Maternal and Child Health services.Applicants Must Hold The Following Current Qualifications And CertificatesDiploma in Early Childhood Education and Care (or equivalent)Current HLTAID012 Provide First Aid in an education and care settingCurrent CPR – HLTAID009 Provide cardiopulmonary resuscitationCriminal History Check (valid within six months).Current and valid Employee Working with Children Check (WWCC).Protecting Children – Mandatory reporting and other obligations early childhoodFor further information about this position, please contact Jodie Sutherland, Early Childhood Education – Service Leader on (03) 5821 3880.Note: This position is subject to a 6 month qualifying period in accordance with the Fair Work Australia minimum employment period.
