FernWay Foundation is a trauma-informed organization dedicated to supporting survivors of childhood sexual abuse, grooming, coercive control, and relational trauma. We provide recovery-focused programs, neuroscience-informed education, and opportunities for community connection to foster empowerment, resilience, and healing. Using trauma-informed practices, somatic principles, and Polyvagal Theory, we aim to help individuals understand the impacts of trauma on their mind, body, and nervous system. Committed to both recovery and prevention, we work to raise awareness about harmful behaviors and promote earlier intervention. Our mission is to ensure no survivor faces healing alone and that everyone has access to support and connection for a thriving future.
Role DescriptionAs one of the Founding Board Members of the FernWay Foundation, you will play a pivotal role in establishing the mission, vision, and strategies of the organization. Responsibilities include guiding strategic planning, providing governance and fiduciary oversight, building partnerships, and assisting with fundraising initiatives. You will help shape the organizational culture, advocate for survivor rights, and actively support the development of educational and recovery programs. As part of the founding team, you will also contribute to recruiting and supporting additional leadership roles within the organization. This is a full-time, on-site position located in Sunshine Coast, QLD.
