As an Investment Analyst – Data & Risk, you will play an important role in contributing to strong long-term investment outcomes for our members by enhancing the Investments Team's data, risk, and modelling capabilities.
You will apply strong problem-solving skills to support the development and implementation of high-quality risk and performance analytics, as well as fund cash flow and liquidity analysis.
Your insights will inform capital deployment, portfolio construction, and investment decision-making in line with our investment strategy.
You will work closely with Portfolio Managers and senior stakeholders across asset classes to ensure investment decisions are supported by robust data and analysis.
The opportunity
Development of risk analytics and performance dashboards, including using Aladdin software
Develop, maintain and analyse cashflow forecasts and their impact on financial performance
Develop and monitor sensitivity and variance analysis models to increase the accuracy of cashflow forecasts and to optimise liquidity and capital deployment
Employ mathematical models, statistical tools and visualization techniques to identify trends and detect outliers
Assist with developing and maintaining databases, and data collection systems to feed analysis as appropriate
Reporting and presentations of results to key stakeholders
About you
1-2 years of experience in a quantitative role
Bachelor's degree in Mathematics, Statistics, Finance, Accounting, Economics, Econometrics, Computer Science, STEM or other quantitative field.
Masters/PhD will be considered as an advantage.
Strong analytical skills with the ability to collect, organise, analyse, and disseminate significant amounts of information with attention to detail and accuracy
Strong critical thinking skills and robust problem-solving abilities to interpret data and analyse results using advanced mathematical and statistical modelling techniques
Excellent written and presentation abilities, with the capacity to communicate effectively across all organisational levels, including the ability to communicate with influence
Proficiency in a coding language such as R, Matlab, Julia, Python, VBA, SQL, or Power BI
Experience with risk systems such as Aladdin, FactSet, StatPro, Macrobond, Bloomberg, Refinitiv, or equivalents
Interest, experience, or knowledge of financial markets, particularly quantitative finance
Interest or background in asset management across a broad range of asset classes
Knowledge and/or experience of the superannuation environment
Familiarity with advanced mathematical and statistical techniques such as (non-)linear regression, ARIMA, VaR, Monte Carlo or stochastic simulations, and Bayesian statistics
