The Opportunity
Are you passionate about food innovation, hands on technical work, and leading high performing teams? We are seeking expressions of interest for the role of Pilot Plant Team Leader within our Development & Innovation team. This role plays a critical part in bringing new product ideas to life and supporting the ongoing development of some of Australia’s most trusted food brands.
As the Pilot Plant Team Leader, you will provide day to day leadership across our Pilot Plant operations, ensuring safe, reliable, and efficient operation of the facility while supporting R&D trial activity and maintaining our strong safety culture. The role also includes hands on operation of pilot plant equipment as a core responsibility.
About the Role
You will lead a team of Pilot Plant Operators, planning and coordinating pilot trials, managing equipment and labour schedules, and ensuring that all work is completed safely and to a high technical standard. Responsibilities include:
* Creating a positive and productive team environment
* Leading safety, WHS compliance and incident management
* Coordinating pilot plant start ups, operations and shutdowns
* Troubleshooting operational issues and supporting R&D teams
* Coaching technical competency and maintaining training records
* Managing raw materials, stocktakes and housekeeping
* Supporting contractor management when required
What We’re Looking For
We’re seeking someone with:
* Demonstrated ability to lead and engage operational teams
* Experience in a food manufacturing environment
* Strong understanding of WHS and HACCP principles
* Mechanical aptitude and willingness to work hands on in the plant
* Strong communication, organisation and problem solving skills
* A positive, “can do” attitude with a focus on continuous improvement
