SUMMARY:
The Bar Attendant Supervisor is responsible for ensuring excellent customer service in a
professional and timely manner. They will oversee and train junior staff, maintain a clean
work environment, and perform a range of food and beverage service tasks, including
liquor service and handling. Additionally, the Supervisor will take on leadership
responsibilities in the absence of the Venue Manager, upholding the brand's vision and
ensuring compliance with regulations.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Provide guidance and training to food and beverage staff members.
Oversee bar operations and staff in the absence of the Venue Manager.
Ensure all customers receive prompt, courteous, and efficient service.
Handle customer inquiries and complaints in a professional manner.
Act as a frontline brand ambassador, reflecting the vision and reputation of the
brand.
Develop and ensure repeat business by exceeding customer expectations.
Maintain a clean and organised work area, including bar, dining areas, cellar, and
bathrooms.
Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations.
Take food and drink orders accurately and prepare and serve a variety of beverages.
Prepare garnishes and maintain bar and cellar supplies.
Assist in the cellar or bottle department, including receiving, delivering, and
recording goods.
Undertake general waiting duties, including food and beverage service and
cleaning tables.
Accurately process sales and reconcile cash and electronic payments at the end of
each shift.
Demonstrate proven sales abilities through add-on sales.
Unload stock and assist with stock management and conduct stocktakes as *required.
Ensure the responsible service of alcohol at all times.
Understand and abide by liquor licensing regulations.
Obey all rules and regulations relating to safety, security, fire precautions, and
personal appearance.
Participate actively in staff training.
Assist with back-office administration tasks and perform other duties as assigned by
the employer.
SKILLS AND QUALIFICATIONS:
At least 1-2 years previous experience in a food and beverage service role,
preferably in a supervisory capacity.
Hospitality qualifications desirable but not essential.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Strong organisational and time management skills.
Ability to work well under pressure and handle multiple tasks simultaneously.
Knowledge of food and beverage preparation and service techniques, including
liquor service.
Familiarity with workplace health and safety regulations.
Responsible Service of Alcohol (RSA) certification.
Approved Manager's Licence.
Proven sales abilities and experience with point-of-sale systems.
