Position Summary

The Housekeeping Supervisor is responsible for supervising daily housekeeping operations to ensure the highest standards of cleanliness, presentation, and guest satisfaction in line with 5-star hotel expectations. The role involves leading room attendants and public area staff, conducting inspections, ensuring compliance with brand standards, and supporting operational efficiency.

Key ResponsibilitiesOperational Supervision

* Supervise and coordinate daily activities of room attendants, public area cleaners, and housekeeping support staff.
* Ensure guest rooms, public areas, back-of-house areas, and facilities are cleaned, maintained, and presented to luxury standards.
* Allocate rooms and tasks efficiently based on occupancy, arrivals, departures, and staffing levels.
* Conduct daily room and public area inspections, ensuring adherence to brand standards and SOPs.

Quality Control & Standards

* Ensure all housekeeping procedures comply with hotel policies, brand standards, WHS regulations, and hygiene requirements.
* Identify maintenance issues and liaise with Engineering/Maintenance for prompt resolution.
* Handle guest requests and complaints professionally, ensuring timely resolution and service recovery when required.

Team Leadership & Training

* Lead, motivate, and support housekeeping team members to maintain high morale and productivity.
* Provide on-the-job training, coaching, and performance feedback to team members.
* Assist with onboarding and training of new staff, including SOPs, chemical handling, and safety procedures.

Administration & Reporting

* Complete daily reports, room status updates, and inspection records accurately.
* Monitor linen usage, amenities, and cleaning supplies, reporting shortages or variances.
* Assist with rostering, attendance monitoring, and coverage planning as required.

Health, Safety & Compliance

* Ensure safe use, handling, and storage of cleaning chemicals and equipment in line with SDS and WHS requirements.
* Promote a safe working environment and immediately report hazards or incidents.

* Strong attention to detail with a commitment to luxury service standards
* Proven leadership and team supervision skills
* Excellent time management and organisational abilities
* Strong communication and interpersonal skills
* Ability to handle guest concerns professionally and discreetly
* Knowledge of housekeeping systems and hotel operations

Qualifications & Experience

* Minimum 1–2 years' experience in a supervisory role within a 4 or 5-star hotel housekeeping department
* Sound understanding of hotel housekeeping standards and procedures
* Knowledge of WHS, chemical handling, and infection control practices
* Relevant hospitality qualification (desirable but not mandatory)

Working Conditions

* Ability to work a rotating roster including weekends and public holidays
* Physically fit to perform inspections and operational duties

Job Types: Full-time, Part-time

Pay: $26.50 – $58.00 per hour

Expected hours: No more than 38 per week

Work Location: In person
