Reporting to: Manager of Finance & Operations
The Opportunity
A NSW-based family is seeking a highly skilled and motivated Accountant to support their Australian operations. This is a hands-on role responsible for day-to-day accounting, accurate financial reporting, and the effective management of financial resources.
The successful candidate will play a key role in ensuring financial integrity, improving processes, and providing valuable insights to support informed decision-making. This position requires strong attention to detail, excellent organisational skills, and a high level of discretion.
Key Responsibilities
* Monitor and manage cash flow, reconciliations, and general ledger activities
* Manage the accounting close process, ensuring all assets, liabilities, and net worth are accurately recorded
* Prepare and analyse financial statements, budgets, and forecasts
* Identify opportunities to improve efficiency and accuracy across financial processes
* Provide financial insights and recommendations to the Manager of Finance & Operations
* Support ad hoc projects and requests as required
About You
To be successful in this role, you will have:
* A Business or Commerce degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field
* CA or CPA qualification
* Minimum 3 years' experience in bookkeeping or accounting
* Strong month-end accounting experience
* Experience preparing GST, FBT, and payroll tax returns
* Exposure to agriculture or real estate operations (desirable)
* Experience with accounting systems such as Xero, QuickBooks, or NetSuite
* Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
* Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities
* A high level of professionalism, discretion, and confidentiality
