About the Role
As a Therapeutic Kinship and Carer Caseworker, you will play a vital part in providing comprehensive support to kinship and foster carers. Your work will ensure that our culturally and linguistically diverse (CALD) children and young people in statutory care have the best possible placement.
You'll be a key point of contact for carers, conducting regular home visits, offering support and training, and monitoring placement standards. You will also be responsible for essential case management duties, including conducting carer assessments, negotiating placement agreements, and developing Placement Care Plans. This is a hands-on role where you will work collaboratively with our team and external partners to match children with the right families and help them maintain strong connections to their community and culture.
About You
You are a passionate advocate for children and families, with a deep understanding of the unique needs of CALD children in Out-of-Home Care. You thrive in a collaborative environment and have a talent for building trusting relationships with carers, young people, and families.
You will also have:
* A relevant degree in Social Work, Social Science, or a similar field (or be currently progressing towards one).
* A minimum of three years of experience working with children, young people, carers, and families in child protection or OOHC services.
* Proven experience supporting and mentoring children and young people in out-of-home care.
* A well-developed understanding of child development and trauma-related models.
* Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
