POSITION PURPOSE
The HSEC Supervisor contributes to the delivery of Rangers HSEC's strategy through leadership, coaching, and the implementation of workplace health, safety, environmental, wellbeing, and compliance practices.
The role leads and develops two Field HSE/Training Advisors, partners with operations to ensure best practice safety management, and drives continual improvement of Ranger's safety culture and maturity. This is a roaming role, where travel to multiple Pilbara sites is required, as well as office-based visits based in Perth.
ROLE DETAILS & RESPONSIBILITIES
Leadership & Culture
* Provide visible leadership in the field (60% field-based)
* Supervise, coach, and mentor HSET Advisors, developing their technical and leadership skills
* Coach operational supervisors to confidently lead safety performance, incident management processes, and field leadership interactions
* Build collaborative relationships with operational teams, clients, and regulators.
Safety & Compliance
* Ensure compliance with WHS legislation, client requirements, and Ranger's safety systems.
* Lead or support incident investigations, ensuring reports are accurate, root causes are identified, and corrective actions are tracked to closure
* Contribute and champion Rangers' Critical Risk Management Program.
Systems & Continuous Improvement
* Support and contribute to the oversight of Rangers Workplace Health and Safety Information System
* Provide input to safety projects, wellbeing programs, and continuous improvement strategies
* Assist in internal and client audits.
Training & Development
* Deliver training, inductions, and toolbox talks as required
* Manage Performance Development Plans (PDPs) for HSET Advisors, aligning business needs with individual goals
* Support structured learning for incident investigation, hazard identification, and field leadership quality.
APPLICANT QUALIFICATIONSThe successful candidate will possess:
* Certificate IV in WHS/OHS (minimum)
* Proven experience leading incident investigations and preparing comprehensive reports (e.g., ICAM)
* 5+ years of field-based HSE experience in mining, drilling, energy, or resources industries
* Strong knowledge of WHS and Environmental Legislation
* Excellent communication, report writing, and interpersonal skills
* Strong computer literacy (MS Office, data analysis, reporting)
* Demonstrated ability to coach and lead people.
