We're looking for an experienced Senior Service Technician to join our Brisbane Service Centre, taking on a Technical Team Lead role. This is a hands-on leadership role where you'll lead a small team while continuing to work on complex technical repairs and diagnostics.
You'll be the go-to technical expert in the Service Centre, responsible for advanced repairs, refurbishment programs, and ensuring work meets quality, safety, and compliance standards. This is a perfect role for a technician ready to step into leadership without leaving the workshop.
Overview
Responsibilities
* Lead, mentor, and support a team of Service Centre Technicians
* Solve complex technical problems and act as the primary technical escalation point
* Perform advanced diagnostics, board-level fault finding, and repairs
* Test, calibrate, and commission repaired equipment
* Drive safety, quality, and continuous improvement initiatives
* Maintain accurate service records in SAP/CRM systems
Desired Skills and Experience
* About You: You're a Senior Service Technician with robust board-level repair skills, a passion for mentoring, and the ability to lead by example. You enjoy solving technical challenges and supporting your team.
* Required Skills & Qualifications:
o Certificate III in Electronics and Communications
o Hazardous Areas accreditation (UEE42620/UEE42622 or equivalent)
o Restricted Electrical Licence
o 3+ years' experience in electronics, RF, or service centre environment
o Eligible to act as Qualified Technical Person (QTP)
o Robust diagnostic and repair skills with test equipment
o Team leadership or mentoring experience
* Nice to Have: Experience in mining, industrial communications, or safety-critical environments
