The Opportunity As a Consultant Orthopaedic Surgeon, you will provide comprehensive orthopaedic services across inpatient, outpatient, emergency, and elective settings. Key responsibilities include: Delivering specialist orthopaedic care to inpatients and outpatients Managing acute trauma and fracture presentations Conducting regular elective orthopaedic operating lists Supervising weekly fracture clinics Providing consultative support to the Emergency Department and other hospital specialties Participating in a 1:5 after-hours and weekend on-call roster Supporting regional and community-based orthopaedic services Contributing to service planning, innovation, and clinical governance initiatives Participating in teaching, mentoring, and supervision of junior medical staff Supporting Indigenous Health and Refugee Health programs across the region This is a diverse role offering a combination of elective surgery, trauma management, outpatient practice, and service development.
