Position Information
Figtree High School is a large, co‐educational comprehensive high school (Years 7–12) catering for approximately 900 students. Established in 1969, the school has a strong reputation for high‐quality teaching, inclusive practice and student success, and is deeply connected to its local community. The school offers a broad and engaging curriculum with consistently strong HSC outcomes, including enrichment programmes, creative and performing arts, languages, extensive sporting opportunities, technology‐rich learning and VET pathways. We promote the values of respect, responsibility and excellence, which guide our daily practices and support positive outcomes for all students.
Specific Selection Criteria
* Demonstrated exceptional ability to initiate, implement and oversee whole school administration roles, including daily staff cover, variations to routine, employment of casuals and the development and implementation of rosters and schedules.
* Demonstrated capacity to initiate, elaborate, implement and manage whole school systems to ensure school operational and educational effectiveness.
* A visible leader with proven ability to implement the school excellence plan and other whole school programs and student improvement opportunities.
* Demonstrated high‐level ability to build positive, collaborative relationships with staff, with highly developed interpersonal and communication skills, and a proven record of working with transparency and equity.
General Selection Criteria
* Successful teaching experience with capacity to initiate improvement in teaching, learning and classroom practice.
* Knowledge of curriculum, assessment and student welfare with the ability to lead and design quality, inclusive teaching and learning programmes.
* Educational leadership skills to build capacity and manage the performance of individuals and teams.
* Well‐developed communication and interpersonal skills with the capacity to build relationships and engage students, staff and parents.
* Ability to plan and manage resources effectively and equitably to support teaching and learning.
* Knowledge of and commitment to the Department's Aboriginal education policy.

An unconditional full approval to teach is required. If you do not hold a full approval to teach with the NSW Department of Education, you are required to commence the application process at the same time as you apply for this teaching opportunity.
