Overview

An opportunity has become available for a full time Laboratory Technician at our Clayton laboratory in the Haematology department.

The position involves working in a fast-paced environment and will be suitable for individuals who pride themselves on the level of accuracy in their work and have a strong customer focus. You will work as part of an experienced and dedicated team with exposure to a wide diversity of work. The preferred applicants will be flexible, punctual, self-motivated, display initiative, be able to work with minimal supervision with the ability to participate in a rotating roster that includes afternoon, weekend and public holiday shifts.

Responsibilities

- Ensure that all company WH&S; requirements are observed
- Involved with the processing of samples within the Haematology Laboratory including ensuring instrumentation and assays are optimal
- Verification and validation of patient results
- Maintain a high quality, team focused, accurate and efficient work environment
- The ability to prioritise specimens through interpretation of referrals and clinical notes
- The ability to determine the correct sample requirements for the tests requested
- Excellent communication skills in dealing with internal and external clients

To be considered for this role you will need to process the following

- Candidates must have a qualification in Medical Technician or equivalent
- Previous experience in a Clinical Laboratory in the Haematology field desirable
- High attention to detail and experience working within KPI’s
- An enthusiastic and flexible approach to work
- Ability to multitask and successfully work as part of a team
- Exceptional time management skills and the ability to meet deadlines
- The ability to contribute towards the delivery of customer focused services
