Project Manager – Battery Energy Storage Systems (BESS)

One of our long standing clients is seeking an experienced Project Manager to join their growing Energy Systems team, delivering utility scale Battery Energy Storage System (BESS) projects across Australia.
This is an opportunity to play a key role in the delivery of some of Australia's most important energy infrastructure projects as the transition to renewable energy accelerates.
About the Role
Reporting to the Project Delivery Manager, you will be responsible for the end to end delivery of BESS projects, coordinating internal and external stakeholders to ensure projects are delivered safely, on time, within budget, and to the highest quality standards.
You will work closely with customers, EPC contractors, OEM suppliers, engineering teams, and manufacturing partners throughout the project lifecycle.
Key Responsibilities
* Manage the delivery of utility scale BESS projects from contract award through commissioning and handover.
* Coordinate project activities across engineering, procurement, manufacturing, logistics, construction, and commissioning.
* Manage project schedules, budgets, risks, and stakeholder communications.
* Interface with battery suppliers, PCS providers, transformer manufacturers, and EPC contractors.
* Ensure compliance with safety, quality, and contractual requirements.
* Support project reporting and governance activities.
About You
We are interested in speaking with candidates who have direct experience delivering Battery Energy Storage System projects and understand the key components that make up a complete BESS solution.
You may currently be working as a:
* Project Manager
* Delivery Manager
* Package Manager
within the renewable energy, energy storage, power systems, or utility infrastructure sectors.
Desired Experience
* Experience delivering utility scale or large C+I BESS projects
* Understanding of battery systems, PCS, transformers, substations, and AC integration.
* Experience working with OEMs, EPC contractors, developers, or major energy companies.
* Strong stakeholder management and project coordination skills.
* Knowledge of battery technologies and energy storage solutions is highly regarded.
* Tertiary qualifications in Engineering, Project Management, or a related discipline.
